from a 1 month, 5 day year-old missionary

This is what I wrote in my journal after being on a mission for 1 month and five days.

August 14, 2014

My mission feels like a dream.

I feel dis-attached from almost everything I have known.

It feels like time doesn't exist.

I do what I need to do in a day. Then I sleep. Then I do it again.

Sometimes I am happy to be here. Sometimes I am indifferent to being here. Sometimes I have to do my best to pretend I don't hate being here.

I feel different on my mission. I feel closer to the Lord and the Spirit.

still in hollywood!

It's transfers week! And guess what! I'M STAYING IN HOLLYWOOD WITH MY AMAZING COMPANION, HERMANA MOCELLIN.

I am suuuper excited and very relieved to stay.

Last preparation day we went to the Hollywood stars and got the best photos. Those photos will follow this e-mail ~

I love this area. I'm a very happy missionary these days.

Missionary things are going well. It's a little harder to find people to teach here than in my other areas, but when we find people they are AMAZING and so ready to hear our message. We have an investigator who is getting baptized at the end of the month. We took him to the Vistor's Center and he cried in almost every room. I love being a missionary, because everyday I see how God touches people's lives.

That's all. Just happy and ready to stay in Hollywood with a super mega chevere companion ~

P.S. I heard it looks like this in Iowa

, and I am so sorry

How is Russia looking these days???

This week in Los Angeles...

Things that happened this week:

~ We saw a movie being made! We tried to be sneaky and see what it was, but the set was well-guarded with security. Bummer. I'm still super happy, because it was secretly a mission goal of mine to see a movie being made. Check.

~ Hermana Mocellin and I are parallel parking CHAMPS. See attached photo.

~ Speaking of parking... I am getting very good at it , but only because I have no choice but to be good at it. Parking is the WORST here.

HOLLYWOOD.

I LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD.

We see the sign everyday.

My companion is very patient so she has yet to get sick of me saying "Hermana, estamos en HOLLYWOOD!" every morning.

My ward is the most amazing and supportive ward in existence. I am so excited to really get to know them all. This may just be self-appointed nickname, but this ward is card "The Ward of Stars".

I don't know if Sadie Taylor is on her mission yet or not, but I think she should know that David Archuleta visited this ward a few weeks ago.

I'm serving my mission in Hollywood. No big deal.

Anyway. Now I will tell you about real missionary things.

happy day!

this is where I live!

we got flu shots.. and a parking ticket.. :(
